ANNUAL DOD FALLEN FIREFIGHTER MEMORIAL CHARITY RIDE (18 Sep 2010) (Click Here For More Information)

THE MILITARY FIREFIGHTER HERITAGE FOUNDATION WILL BE CELEBRATING ITS 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN MARCH 2011 TO HELP CELEBRATE WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE 2011 FIREFIGHTERS BALL AND CHANUTE/GOODFELLOW INSTRUCTOR REUNION APRIL 1-3, 2011, SAN ANGELO, TEXAS (Click Here For More Information)

Lining the troopwalk leading to the Louis F. Garland DoD Fire Academy on Goodfellow Air Force Base are a number of large brick and metal pavilions. These pavilions were recently erected as shelters for the protection and display of the Academy’s unique collection of historic military firefighting vehicles. The trucks and pavilions form the centerpiece of a Military Firefighter Heritage Display being constructed on the west Texas Air Force base.

Home to the Department of Defense Fire Academy, Goodfellow is a logical location for this memorial. Its placement along the troopwalk our fire students traverse to and from class daily is calculated to achieve the maximum, educational effect: we want our students to see this memorial as they go to class; we want them to contemplate the rich history of the vehicles, the proud heritage they stand to inherit as they become military firefighters.
