The largest project of the Military Firefighter Heritage Foundation is saving retired fire trucks for display. This effort preserves the vehicles, and presents a history of firefighting to future firefighters that are attending the DoD Fire Acadmey.

Holloman AFB, donated the O-6 that now resides on the troop walk. Members of their fire department came to dedicate it and the restored bench that accompanied it.

The Military Firefighter Heritage Foundation held a memorial for SSgt. Ray Rangel who died while preforming his duties in Iraq. He was trying to save the lives of Army soldiers that had fallen into a ravine. SSgt. Rangel drowned while serving his country.

The Military Firefighter Heritage Foundation is constructing a monument to fallen firefighters. This monument is currently under construction and should be completed soon.
